Charity James was the second voice actress to perform Elaine Marley in Monkey Island series. Unlike her predecessor Alexandra Boyd, who performed her role with a British accent, in Escape from Monkey Island James performed Elaine as having an American accent. Also her voice-role was noticibly more prominent due to the characters bigger presence in the game than in her previous appearances.
James has done several supporting character-roles in television and animated films. Notably, she voiced another prominent leading lady in an adventure game, Grace Nakimura, in the third Gabriel Knight game by the competing Sierra Online company.
