Dominic Armato

Dominic Armato supplied the voice for Guybrush Threepwood in The Curse of Monkey Island, Escape from Monkey Island, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, and Tales of Monkey Island. He is also supplying his voice for the upcoming game Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge: Special Edition. He was born November 18th, 1976 in Melrose Park, on the west side of Chicago. He went to school in Chicago and moved out to California in September of 1995. He is the brother of Amanda Armato. Aside from voicing Guybrush, Dominic has also lent his voice to several Star Wars games from LucasArts as well as had a few small roles in TV series.^[1]

Personal life

Dominic's favourite game is The Curse of Monkey Island, and he also likes "the original MI for hitting an 11 on the 1 to 10 scale of goofy fun".^[2]

His greatest fear is either drowning in an underwater cave all by himself, or making napkin rings for all eternity under the watchful eye of Martha Stewart. He likes travelling abroad because it's fun.^[3] His favourite drink is Obatini - 3 parts Plum Wine, 3 parts Cranberry Juice, 2 parts Malibu, shaken over ice and strained.^[4] He runs a culinary blog.

Professional life

The only non-voice performance he has given was in an episode of Chicago Hope in 1997.^[5] After 2003 Dominic Armato did not work as a professional voice actor for almost four years as he and his sister are working as webmasters for their father's family business (unconfirmed).^[6] He has since resumed voice acting in 2007 in the game Crysis. He has recently done voice work as Guybrush Threepwood for The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and Tales of Monkey Island, an episodic Monkey Island game that was released throughout the second half of 2009 in 5 separate installments. His most recent voice acting role is in the upcoming Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge: Special Edition.
