Inspector Canard

Inspector Canard is the inspector who arrests Guybrush after he is framed for bank robbery by Pegnose Pete. Though adamant himself on capturing Pegnose he doesn't believe Guybrush's insistence on being innocent and places him under house-arrest. He places the Voodoo Anklet of extreme discomfort around his ankle preventing him from leaving Lucre Island.

In order to be set free the player has to prove Pegnose was in the bank and that he committed the crime. Guybrush is nonetheless able to capture Pegnose using his extreme fear of ducks to his advantage. After Guybrush provides the screw used to hold Pegnose's prosthetic nose in place Canard is convinced to release him. Unfortunately Pegnose escapes soon after.

Trivia

• Canard is French for 'duck' - Pegnose Pete has an extreme phobia of ducks.
