Jojo Sr.

Jojo Sr. is a monkey who lives on Monkey Island in the first game. He is found in the jungle and will follow Guybrush around when given enough bananas. At the clearing with the Giant Monkey Head he holds down the lever that opens the gate to the Head, allowing Guybrush to reach it.

In the fourth game Guybrush meets Jojo Sr.'s son Jojo Jr., who explains that his father died of starvation after somebody taught him to hang from a lever but forgot to tell him to let go of it later. Jojo Sr.'s grave can be seen near the Monkey Head.
