The Lookout

The Lookout of Mêlée Island is the first character Guybrush meets in the series. Hand-picked by Sheriff Fester Shinetop, his job is to report any approaching storms or ships to the Governor. Though he has a short role (two cutscenes and a few Q&As), he provides the necessary information to begin game-play, including introducing the main character, Guybrush Threepwood.

Lookout Point, where the Lookout keeps watch, overlooks the Village of Mêlée Island and is the first location shown in the series. Though it isn't really used beyond the first scene, the player must pass through Lookout Point each time he travels from the village to another point on the island.

Appearance

The Lookout is an elderly gentleman with grey hair and beard. He wears a long grey overcoat, trousers, and sturdy boots. He also suffers from poor eyesight, wearing extremely thick bottle-glasses to compensate, and often mistakenly addresses mid-air instead of Guybrush.
