Mêlée Island church
From Monkey Island wiki
The Mêlée Island Church is located in Mêlée Town between the Storekeeper's shop and the Mêlée Island Jail. Behind the church is an alley where Guybrush first meets Sheriff Fester Shinetop. The church is featured in the last part of the game The Secret of Monkey Island when LeChuck attempts to marry Elaine. Prior to this section of the game the location is empty with no characters or items to interact with; quiet organ music can be heard whenever the player visits the location.
The church has stained glass windows, long rows of pews and many candles. In the final part of the game a ghoulish priest is shown at LeChuck and Elaine's wedding ceremony.
The alley behind the church can also be visited by riding the elevator towards the end of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, though the player can't venture further since the street is cut-off by road-work. The Mêlée Island Church is one of a number of locations, such as the Storekeeper's shop and the lookout post, not to return in Escape from Monkey Island.
