Mr. Fossey

Mr. Fossey is the demented owner of the Sea Cucumber and leader of the Pirates of Danjer Cove; he is the self-appointed first mate to the gorilla Captain LeChimp. Guybrush first encounters Fossey when he tries to rescue Elaine, who has been stolen by the pirates. He will order Guybrush to walk the plank every time he boards the ship, but if Guybrush saws off the plank, he is instead tarred and feathered (and then made to walk the plank anyway). His crew appears to consist entirely of monkeys.
Guybrush is able to trick Fossey with The A-mfggh-C's of Ventriloquism, speaking on behalf of LeChimp. He convinces Fossey to give up piracy, but he is unable to learn where they buried Elaine.
He is voiced by Quinton Flynn.

- Mr. Fossey is a fan of fried chicken and put in an order for it at Blondebeard's Chicken Shoppe.
- His name is like a reference to Dian Fossey, a well-known anthropologist who worked with gorillas.
