Rockrib

Rockrib is the doorman at Club 41 on Flotsam Island. He is the only known employee at the club other than its owner and bartender, W.P. Grindstump.

When Guybrush Threepwood first arrives on Flotsam in "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal", W.P. is on vacation and Rockrib enforces strict rules for entry, including that non-members are forbidden and probationary members must wear a blindfold at all times when in the club. W.P. later reveals that this was a joke on the part of Rockrib, whom he says is "always good for a laugh". Rockrib also works as a bouncer, expelling Hemlock McGee after he is involved in Guybrush's bar fight, and refusing to let him back in in accordance with their "no feet, no service" policy.

In "The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood" Rockrib's strict policies have been relaxed. Relieved from his position at the entrance, he spends much of his time in the club bathroom. He is never seen except for a little bit of his face through the door slot in "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal".

Name

The name "Rockrib" is derived from the word rock-ribbed, which could mean "having rocky cliffs or outcroppings" or "obstinately firm, uncompromising, die-hard and unyielding in one's opinions".
