Timmy the Monkey

Timmy is Elaine Marley's pet monkey and a friend to Guybrush. He does not appear before the fourth game but apparently he is familiar with Guybrush and Elaine before this. His name comes from the sarcastic phrase: "What's wrong, Lassie? Is Timmy trapped in the well?"^[1]; when he first enters Guybrush asks a similar question of him. When Guybrush is placed under house arrest he is excited to go back to the Governor's Mansion and play with Timmy, but he is not allowed to leave Lucre Island.

When Guybrush is stranded on Monkey Island he finds that Timmy has come to the island, as have monkeys from all over the Caribbean. Guybrush can lure him around by giving him bananas (much as he did with Jojo Sr. in The Secret of Monkey Island) and use him to open a mysterious underground door. Later Timmy and the other monkeys operate the Giant Monkey Robot that Guybrush, Horatio Torquemeda Marley and Jojo Jr. run from the Head.

At the end of the game Timmy is the only monkey to stay behind on Mêlée Island while the others leave. He kicks Guybrush in the end, causing him to fall over the edge of a cliff just before the credits begin to roll.
